Times Tables: 6, 7, 8, and 9

Grade 3 · Math · Multiplication · Alberta, Canada

Lesson Summary

These are the trickiest times tables, but you already know many of the facts from earlier tables.

Explanation

By the time you study the 6s, 7s, 8s, and 9s, you have already learned most of these facts from the other tables. For example, 6 × 3 is the same as 3 × 6. A helpful trick for 9s is the finger trick: hold up 10 fingers, put down the finger for the number you are multiplying by 9, and the fingers on each side give you the answer. Practice the facts you find hardest until they feel easy.
