Probability measures how likely an event is to happen. It ranges from 0 (impossible) to 1 (certain) and can be written as a fraction, decimal, or percent. To find the probability of a simple event, divide the number of favorable outcomes by the total number of possible outcomes: P(event) = favorable ÷ total. For example, the probability of rolling a 3 on a standard die is 1/6.
