Telling Time
Grade 2 · Math · Measurement and Data · Alabama, USA
Lesson Summary
Read a clock to tell time to the nearest five minutes.
Explanation
A clock has two hands. The short hand shows the hour, and the long hand shows the minutes. When the long hand points to 12, it is exactly on the hour. Each number the long hand passes counts as 5 minutes. So if the long hand points to 3, it means 15 minutes past the hour. Practice reading both regular clocks and digital clocks so you always know what time it is.
