Explanation
Every sentence starts with a capital (uppercase) letter. The first word is always capitalized. At the end of a telling sentence, you put a period. A period looks like a little dot. It tells the reader that the sentence is finished. For example: 'I like to play outside.' The 'I' is capitalized and there is a period at the end. Names of people and places also start with a capital letter.
