Bar Graphs

Grade 2 · Math · Measurement and Data · Mississippi, USA

Lesson Summary

Read and create bar graphs that use bars to compare amounts.

Explanation

A bar graph uses bars of different lengths to show data. The taller or longer the bar, the bigger the number. Bar graphs have a title at the top, labels along the bottom or side, and numbers along the other side. To read a bar graph, look at where the top of each bar lines up with the numbers. Bar graphs make it easy to see which group has the most or the least.
